What about my divorce? After divorce, you remain responsible for the debts you had jointly when you were married. If you are facing divorce, now is a time when it will be very helpful to request a credit report to see everything that’s in your file. It may be best to close joint accounts where possible, so that you can gradually re-establish your credit separately.
